PhD students from across the BBSRC-funded South West Biosciences Doctoral Training Partnership (SWBio DTP) enjoyed a student-led day of training at the Bristol Aquarium.
Bioscience PhD Students from the universities of Bath, Bristol, Cardiff and Exeter, alongside Rothamsted Research, were joined by wildlife experts and entrepreneurs; Bristol Post’s Steve England, Ed Drewitt (naturalist, broadcaster and wildlife detective), and Owl Occasions’ Paul Golledge (and Hermes the peregrine!) who talked about their entrepreneur careers and gave advice on how to build a fulfilling and successful career.
As part of a team-building activity, students produced Morph clay models and creative live action videos in workshop run by Aardman Animations.
Organisers would like to thank Tocris Bioscience, ThermoFisher Scientific, GlaxoSmithKline, 50th Anniversary University of Bath Ops Team, Vivid Biology, BRACE and Institute of Physics for sponsoring products for the event.
